Rome is the first of its kind and no guinea pig, simply a fusion of battle tested flooring systems. The floor was introduced in 2011 at the Nike “ Clash of Champions” in Eugene, OR with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova and Viktoria Azarenka. At the NIKE clash of the champions, these Players had something to say

The tennis court was used outdoors at the WTT finals 2011 in Charleston SC. The Rome covered center court and received high accolades for its performance characteristics. Renee Stubbs stated the former doubles #1 player of the world, that “it might be the best court I ever played on” Leander Paez lauded the courts surface pace and perfect bounce

A more permanent court version was selected for the WTA Finals in Istanbul for the year end tournament in 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Other venues were at Farmers Life Arena in Indianapolis and Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut.

The Powershares Tour played in 2012 and 2014 their indoor events on Rome and was it a huge success story. 8,500 sf of flooring can be installed in less than four hours and are ready for play instantly.

Ace Surfaces provides high quality event flooring for Tennis and Basketball.

There are many unique features of the courts. They are as follows:

Each panel weighs only 77 lbs making them easy to handle by two people for very fast set up and tear down. The locking system is a one step operation, simple and fast, contributing to the ease and quickness of set up and break down.

This floor can be installed over clay courts or any other solid substrate and is ideal when the floor is used for a period of time such as the World Team Tennis season or if construction requires a temporary solution.

Storage space required is little, approx. 1/3 that of solid wood portable floor. One standard sized portable floor comes in 9 crates:

The crates are stackable, up to three crates tall.

  • Set up by 6- 8 people in 3-4 hours
  • Break down in 2 -3 hours
  • Storage space needed is less than one trailer or, if stacked, 150 sf footprint.
